CarlZeiss.jpgCarl Zeiss Surgical GmbH has released OPMI Lumera and OPMI Lumera T microscopes for ophthalmological surgery. The microscopes use patent-pending stereo-coaxial illumination technology to display the red reflex. They come equipped with apochromatic optics, retinal protection for patients, an automatic halogen bulb changer, and a system that enables adjustment of depth of field and transmitted light. The Lumera T also includes an integrated assistant’s microscope with independent controls and an option for an integrated video monitor that uses a xenon light source to display the eye with natural colors or that uses a filter for a halogen-equivalent spectrum.
