Continuous Zoom LensesThe Ophir LightIR 10-135 mm and 18-225 mm MWIR f/3.6 continuous zoom lenses from MKS Instruments Inc. are compact, high-performance, motorized continuous zoom lenses.

The lightweight thermal imaging lenses are optimized for smaller-sized VGA 10-µm focal plane array IR detectors. They feature a compact design with reduced optical elements that significantly decreases the length and weight of the lens and, therefore, the overall size and weight of the optical system in which it is incorporated. The LightIR 10-135 mm lens weighs 250 g, while the LightIR 18-225 mm weighs 300 g. Along with a detection range exceeding 11 and 15 km, the lenses can be used in small gimbal thermal imaging applications such as drones and tactical unmanned aerial vehicle IR cameras, as well as micro/mini-tactical payloads in the commercial, homeland security, and defense markets.
