 Syntactic Foam Epoxy Potting CompoundThe EC-1190 low-viscosity, syntactic foam epoxy potting compound from EpoxySet Inc. features a specific gravity of 0.74, making it lighter than water.

The low-density formula also offers excellent electrical insulating properties. It has a low dielectric strength of 380 V/mil, with a dissipation factor of 0.03 at 1 Mhz, a dielectric constant of 2.3 at 1 Mhz, and a volume resistivity of 1013 Ω-cm. The low viscosity and 90-minute work time allow for ease of potting even the most intricate electronic pottings.

EC-1190 is an excellent choice for any application trying to keep the weight per unit to a minimum, such as in the aerospace, medical, and deep-sea industries. The rigid system also has high chemical resistance and can be used in temperature cycling applications from −40 °C to 150 °C.
