The T- Midled SFH 4140 from Osram Opto Semiconductors is a flush-mountable IR LED remote control transmitter.  

The transmitter emits a 940 nm, ±25° beam to the side by an integrated reflector. The device produces 50 mW/sr of radiant intensity from a 100 mA drive current.

It can be used to turn tablets, computers and smartphones into universal remote controls for home entertainment devices.
