QUEBEC CITY, CANADA, March 15, 2011 — Telops has launched its newest cooled infrared camera line, the TEL-1000.

They are available in three configurations: mid-wave, covering the 3- to 5-µm range; long-wave, covering the 8- to 11-µm range; and very long wave, covering the 7.7- to 11.8-µm range. Ease of use and customization are integrated into the cameras’ design.

They feature the patented real-time temperature calibration algorithm, providing either raw or thermally calibrated data in real time without need of external blackbodies. They also can be equipped with automatic exposure control to adjust the exposure time according to the scene’s dynamic temperature variations. These options allow the cameras to be customized to meet the demands of specific applications.
Setup time reduction and instantaneous availability of processed and calibrated images are two benefits offered by the cameras. Others include real-time radiometric or uniformity-corrected images, high resolution and thermal sensitivity. Features include a fast filter wheel, built-in synchronization, GEN CAM-compatibility, a rugged sealed enclosure, a standard bayonet optic interface, a software development kit and software, and multiple digital output.

The mid- and long-wave versions have 640 × 512 pixels, a maximum full frame rate of 124 Hz, and a detector pitch of 16 µm. The very long wave model offers 320 × 256 pixels, a 30-µm detector pitch and a maximum full frame rate of 300 Hz. All models have a mercury cadmium telluride detector, achieve integration time from 3 µs to 2 ms, and offer semirandom windowing and a 16-bit dynamic range.

Applications include nondestructive testing and evaluation, military, R&D, scientific, biomedical, target tracking, infrared signature and long-range surveillance.
