Diffraction Limited has introduced its MaxPoint software, which improves telescope pointing to 1- to 2-arc-min accuracy by modeling and correcting errors in the mount. The program realigns a telescope after it loses its pointing reference on shutdown and automatically corrects the pointing commands. The company says that MaxPoint, which is set up between a telescope and the control software, can work with virtually any Windows control program.
