THIN-FILM EDGE FILTERS Discriminating Raman spectroscopy edge filters for industrial, analytical and research applications are available from Semrock Inc. The company says ion-beam sputtering and proprietary manufacturing tools provide three times the Stokes-edge steepness and allow higher signal transmission than holographic notch filters. The thin-film filters' steep edges enable measurement of small Raman shifts. They feature deep blocking for maximum laser rejection and hard dielectric coatings for durability and permanent brightness. Specifications include a typical steepness of 0.5% of the laser wavelength, average passband transmission of >93% and passband bandwidth of >200 nm.
