HEERBRUGG, Switzerland, Nov. 18, 2015 — TIR LensMeant for high-brightness LEDs, the next-generation total internal reflection (TIR) lens from the Escatec Group is a 20th of the size of current TIR lenses.

Mounted directly onto a bare LED and secured in place with clear optical glue, the lens features no air gap for optimal optical coupling, ensuring light transfer from the LED to the TIR lens with minimal sideways losses for optical efficiency up to 95 percent.

The lens can be made from polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), silicone or glass.
