OLCHING, Germany, Dec. 8, 2014 — Haas Laser Technologies thermal lensing compensation opticsThermal lensing compensation (TLC) optics by Haas Laser Technologies passively compensate for thermal lensing effects in high-power collimators and focusing lenses.

With the system, thermal lensing for lasers with powers in excess of 1 kW is reduced to less than the Rayleigh range of the lens design. It incorporates dn/dT between two high-power laser optical materials, thickness, air spacing and curvatures to minimize thermal lensing between 20 °C and 250 °C to ensure best focus.
