NIRTechSystems.jpgThe first in a series of application-specific near-infrared instruments for the pharmaceutical industry, the Series 2000 tablet analyzer from NIR Technology Systems can measure coating thickness and tablet uniformity. Capable of measuring coating thickness in less than two minutes, the diode-array spectrometer has a sample transport module that allows 15 separate scans for each sample. For examining tablet uniformity, a different sample cell is used, and the device scans the tablets and presents average results for up to four constituents and their standard deviations. A complete compositional profile can be obtained by uploading the results to a PC.
