The TM3000 from Hitachi High-Technologies Corp. is a tabletop variable pressure scanning electron microscope featuring “one button” auto start, autofocus and other automated onboard functions. Controlled through a laptop computer with an intuitive user interface, it was designed for use by nonspecialists. The instrument delivers magnification up to 30,000x and offers users three modes of operation: surface, normal, and high-brightness and -contrast. It features a depth of focus that, when combined with its improved imaging capabilities, can examine larger samples on a larger specimen stage.
