TechSpec Raman Edge Filters

BARRINGTON, N.J., May 30, 2012 — Edmund Optics has launched its newly designed TechSpec Raman edge filters for integration into Raman spectroscopy, confocal microscopy and life sciences instrumentation.
They provide single filter solutions to reduce spectral noise in Stokes shift applications. Their hard-coated design provides good transmission, and they create sharp transitions between transmitted Raman signals and blocked laser wavelengths. The filters feature steep edges, which are suitable for detecting even the smallest Raman shifts.
The filters provide deep blocking for maximum laser rejection and feature guaranteed transition widths of <1%. The transition width is the maximum spectral bandwidth between the blocked laser line and the 50% transmission point of the filter. This feature makes angle-tuning unnecessary, simplifying system setup and implementation.
The filters deliver typical transmission of >93%, which allows weak signals to be detected. They are available in 355- and 785-nm wavelengths, with diameters of 12.5, 25 and 50 mm.
