BARRINGTON, N.J., April 18, 2012 — Edmund Optics’ TechSpec SWIR (short-wavelength infrared) fixed-focal-length imaging lenses are designed, coated and tested for the 0.9- to 1.7-μm-wavelength range.
Selecting components for that wavelength range ensures high resolution. Using lenses designed for the visible spectrum results in images that are defocused and that contain high amounts of chromatic aberration.
The lenses are available in 50- and 25-mm focal lengths. The 50-mm version is offered with C-mount, F-mount and M42 × 1.0-mm options to work with a wide selection of SWIR cameras. They feature a broadband antireflection coating from 800 nm to 1.8 µm to optimize transmission. They have low f numbers for high throughput and good performance.
They are commercial off-the-shelf lenses designed to cover large, 25-mm sensors. Imaging applications include inspection, sorting and quality control.
