WILMINGTON, Mass., April 17, 2014 — TeraDiode has announced the TeraBlade series, a line of multi-kilowatt, ultra-high brightness, direct diode lasers for metal cutting and welding.

The TeraBlade platform pairs semiconductor diode laser array chips with wavelength beam combination (WBC). WBC enables the melding of energy from thousands of individual emitters into a single beam while preserving quality. It also preserves the wall-plug efficiency of direct diode lasers when delivering high-brightness.

4kW is the highest power available in the TeraBlade line, based on 600W modules. The TeraBlade-4000 has a center wavelength of 970 nm and a 100-µm delivery fiber. Versions are available with beam parameter products under 4 mm-mrad for cutting and under 6 mm-mrad for remote welding.
