TeraView.jpgTeraView Ltd. has released the TPS Spectra 3000, a terahertz spectrometer that performs nondestructive transmission and attenuated total reflection measurements on solids, liquids, suspensions, slurries, pastes and films. The semiconductor-based, pulsed instrument performs suitable analysis under ambient conditions. The transmission module accepts standard IR sampling accessories, and the attenuated total reflection modules provide measurements on as little as 1 mg of solid sample. The spectrometer has a spectral range of 0.06 to 3 THz (2 to 100 cm–1). Its solid-state emitter and detector provide ambient temperature control. Applications include the analysis of crystalline structure, the identification of polymorphs and the detection of explosives.
