Lenses made with Theia’s patented Linear Optical Technology® are designed to cover wide areas without distortion. This innovative technology offers an ultra-wide field of view while using all optical distortion correction to remove barrel distortion without using software, eliminating the latency inherent in software correction, and making it useful in aerial mapping, navigation, situational awareness, and remote operation for robotics and unmanned vehicles. The technology provides increased resolution at the image edge compared to other wide-angle lens technologies, improving the ability to identify, quantify, and characterize objects. The technology enables lenses with up to 135 degrees HFOV and 120 degrees VFOV with 5+ megapixel, 200+lp/mm resolution and includes near-IR corrected models with very low focus shift, maintaining high resolution in the NIR spectrum for agricultural and other multi-spectral applications. The lenses provide pan focus performance from .3 meter to infinity, but can focus as close as 10 cm and can be used for optical character recognition, barcode reading, PCB and LCD inspection, and other close focus applications. The full featured lenses are compact and lightweight yet robust enough to withstand conditions consistent with vibration of up to 10 G. The lenses come in C or CS mounts, with manual or DC auto iris, and prime or varifocal models for up to 1/2.3" sensors.
