Flir Systems Inc. has announced the Scout TK thermal vision monocular and the TG130 spot thermal camera, both featuring a low-cost Lepton microcamera core for affordable thermal imaging.

The Scout TK was developed for use outdoors. Pocket-sized and designed for one-handed use, the device allows users to see in total darkness and become better aware of their surroundings. With more than five hours of battery life, the Scout TK detects body heat of people and animals while also identifying key landmarks.

The TG130 is an entry-level camera for a spectrum of home and small business applications. When pointed at an object, the camera identifies energy- and temperature-related issues, allowing location of drafts and areas of missing insulation and detection of heat losses.
