HUDSON, N.H., Jan. 19, 2015 — BAE Systems UTC XIIThe first military-grade thermal weapon sight to include 12-µm technology, the Universal Thermal Clip-On (UTC) XII from BAE Systems reduces lens size, total system weight and battery use, while delivering improved image quality.

Similar to the 17-µm UTC (currently fielded by the U.S. military in support of long-range sniper and surveillance missions), the UTC XII complements existing day sight systems. Users can rapidly move from day to night vision without mission interruption.

The UTC XII allows users to detect, recognize and identify threats in all weather and light conditions. Observation of the target area is possible through fog, smoke, dust and haze.
