MINNEAPOLIS, April 15, 2013 — Sick has released the TiM310 field detection laser scanner, a small device with 3-W power consumption and 270° scanning range suitable for simple, discrete input/output and field detection applications in the robotics, logistics and building automation industries.

The low-cost industrial-grade laser scanner is enclosed in a compact aluminum housing with an IP 65 enclosure rating and can be configured in less than five minutes using the 16 preconfigured fields or a “Touch and Teach” button.

For complex field set shapes or quick in-field replacements, Sick’s Sopas engineering software configuration tool can be used.
