BOULDER, Colo., April 25, 2013 — Kapteyn-Murnane Laboratories (KMLabs) has added the Wyvern-HE to its Dragon/Wyvern series Ti:sapphire ultrafast amplifiers.

The device delivers >9-mJ pulse energy specification with <45-fs pulse duration at 1 kHz repetition rate, using a single, compact regenerative amplification stage. Peak power can reach as high as 0.2 TW.

The instrument combines patented cryogenic cooling technology with a proprietary regenerative cavity design to provide a >2X pulse energy increase from previous designs with only single-stage amplification.
