NewFocus_FiOPicomotor.jpgFor inaccessible remote-control applications, such as in a vacuum chamber, New Focus's  improved tiny Picomotor actuator and new vacuum-compatible tiny Picomotor actuator are just the thing. These handy little motors are able to push up to 3 lbs and can be used to move samples, shutters or beam-delivery optics. New Focus builds all of its ultraclean, vacuum/UHV (down to 10-9 Torr) and ultraviolet-compatible optomechanical and motion-control components and tests its designs with standard gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy.
