VAN NUYS, Calif., June 7, 2021 — Tri-axis Yaw, Pitch, and Roll StagesThe YPR-100-100-100 Tri-axis Yaw, Pitch, and Roll Stages from Optimal Engineering Systems Inc. are ideal for the precise measurement of angles, the curvature of objects, laser machining and drilling, scanning, tracking, and for use with coordinate measuring machines.

The -01 model is driven by two-phase stepper motors; the -02 version is driven by three-phase brushless servo motors with quadrature incremental optical encoders mounted on the shaft of the motors; the -03 version is driven by direct-current servo motors with quadrature incremental optical encoders; and the -04 version is driven by stepper motors with quadrature optical encoders for position verification.

The -01 and -04 versions have a maximum speed of 14°/s and feature a resolution of 0.001° equal to 3.6 arcsec when the resolution of the micro-step driver is 10 micro-steps/step. The positional accuracy is 0.05°, and repeatability is +/-0.01°. For higher speeds up to 45°/s, the -02, or -03 stages provide closed-loop servo operation.
