Triggering the 8-channel pE-800CoolLED, a global expert in LED microscopy illumination, has enabled high-speed and affordable imaging with its new pE-6501-8 USB controlled TTL trigger box and 8-channel pE-800 LED Illumination System.

This is where the ease of software control meets lightning fast < 7 µs TTL triggering in widefield fluorescence microscopy. Increased temporal resolution is ideal for capturing dynamic events, while reduced latency saves time during applications such as image tiling or time-lapse experiments. Moreover, precisely synchronising the light source and camera minimises photobleaching and phototoxicity for more accurate data. The pE-6501-8 also opens the way to controlling a variety of other peripherals via TTL, for example the CoolLED pT-100 for transmitted illumination techniques.

The pE-6501-8 has been designed for the pE-800 LED Illumination System, which sees LEDs take centre stage as the widefield illumination method of choice. Featuring eight individually controllable LEDs and lightning fast TTL switching, the pE-800 delivers the highest quality data with minimum total cost of ownership. Versatile, intuitive and backed by CoolLED’s world-renowned support and a 36-month warranty, the pE-800 with liquid light guide delivery makes next generation LED illumination accessible to all.

Eight powerful LEDs offer broad spectral coverage from 365-740 nm for use with fluorophores ranging from DAPI to Cy7. Even as applications change over time, this new level of 8-channel versatility means selecting the optimum fluorophore combination has never been so easy — and the ability to match the LED excitation wavelengths enhances the signal-to-noise ratio for each experiment.

Microscopists can already benefit from full software integration in Nikon NIS Elements, while the intuitive CoolLED LightBridge GUI offers comprehensive control options. For users of major software packages e.g. Olympus cellSens and μManager, the pE-6501-8 add-on allows fast and stable triggering of the pE-800 without additional equipment, making this an affordable approach for high-speed imaging.
