LUTON, England, Feb. 9, 2011 — Lasers in the TruMicro Series 7000 manufactured by Trumpf Ltd. offer high productivity in microprocessing, with an average power of up to 750 W. Applications include cutting, structuring, ablation, drilling and edge stripping.

The Model 7050 disk laser operates at 1030 nm with a pulse duration of 30 ns, independent of the repetition rate. Maximum pulse energy is 80 mJ, and maximum and minimum repetition rates are 100 and 5 kHz, respectively. Nominal power consumption is 5 kW. Cooling water temperature range is from 5 to 20 °C.

Measuring 1460 × 1350 × 730 mm, the nanosecond laser delivers high throughput and an optimal combination of pulse length and beam quality for remote processing. For edge deletion, the edges of the layered system are ablated to prepare for lamination with a second glass substrate.

The Model 7250 operates at 515 nm, with average power of 400 W. Pulse duration is 300 ns, and maximum pulse energy is 10 mJ. Minimum and maximum repetition rates and nominal power consumption are the same as for the 7050 model, as are the cooling water temperature range and the dimensions.

The minimum diameter laser light cable for the 7050 is 400 µm and, for the 7250, 100 µm.
