KOMAKI, Japan, Feb. 6, 2015 — Santec HSL-1Designed with system integration in mind, a new tunable laser from Santec Corp. is suited for spectroscopy and optical coherence tomography (OCT).

The HSL-1 is based on electrically pumped vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) technology. It features a 1060-nm wavelength range, single-mode lasing and long coherence length, variable scan speed and low signal noise.

Applications include swept-source OCT, spectroscopy, interferometry and optical sensing.
