STRATFORD, Conn., April 17, 2013 — Oriel Instruments, a Newport Corp. brand, has released the fully integrated TLS series tunable light sources, which deliver up to 0.6-nm resolution monochromatic light in a broad tunable range from 250 to 2400 nm.

The system is mounted on a 12 × 24-in. baseplate and features a research series light source, a motorized filter wheel with four order-sorting filters, a 1/8-m monochromator with two multiple fixed-slit wheels, and two 600-lines-per-mm gratings. A collimated output with standard Oriel 1.5-in. series flange allows the use of various types of optics. The device is equipped with the company’s TracQ software package.

The light sources are available in three models: 75-W xenon, 300-W xenon and 250-W quartz tungsten halogen. Factory characterized prior to shipment, they come with spectral output data for reference.
