Tunable Quantum Cascade LaserA high-power tunable quantum cascade laser from DRS Daylight Solutions Inc. spans 3.3 to 3.8 µm and covers the essential C-H stretch molecular vibration band.

This development follows the recent addition of a 13-µm quantum cascade laser that extends the range of Daylight’s tunable laser offerings from 3.3 to 13.7 µm. The new QCL sources can be used in either the single Hedgehog laser or as one of the modules in the MIRcat-QT laser system.

This wavelength range is of particular interest for environmental monitoring and life sciences applications. It also has potential across all of our laboratory instruments, including the Spero and ChemDetect imaging and analyzer product families.
