The Tunable SFF 10G 300PIN MSA transponders from Civcom Inc. are available in two models, using either a lithium niobate or an indium phosphide modulator. The instruments can be used with the company’s Free-Path family of manageable dispersion compensation modules. The small-form-factor transponders, which contain both a 10-Gb/s widely tunable transmitter and a wide-band receiver, have a range of up to 80 km.
