HAWTHORNE, Calif., Aug. 3, 2022 — Two-color Sandwich Detectors from OSI Optoelectronics Inc. are designed for optical remote temperature measurements.

The devices include an uncooled silicon-silicon detector and an uncooled silicon-InGaAs detector, plus an introduced silicon-InGaAs photodiode with a two-stage thermoelectric cooler. Independent of emissivity and unaffected by contaminants in the field of view or from moving targets, the ratio of radiation intensities of two adjacent wavelengths are compared with standard black body radiation curves. They are resilient to volatile environmental conditions and maintain precise measurements across a broad temperature range.

Applications include flame temperature sensing, spectrophotometers, IR thermometers, metal parts processing, astronomy, aerospace, and more.
