Meller Optics UAV opticsCustom-fabricated unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) optics for small drones and tiny flying robots have been announced by Meller Optics Inc.

The optics feature round sapphire lenses from 0.25 in. and up, with partial spheres as small as 0.12 in. with varying focal lengths. They are available with antireflection coatings for light from the visible range to 10.6 μm.

Optics are also offered in zinc selenide from 0.25 in. and up. Developed for OEMs, the optics incorporate stepped edges and other characteristics for mounting, such as slots or wedges. Flatness can be held to 1&frasl/10 wave per inch in the visible range with surface finishes from 60-40 to 40-20 scratch-dig.
