LAWRENCE, Mass., June 19, 2014 — Made to simultaneously capture and plot upwelling and downwelling radiation in the 320- to 1100-nm range, the UDS-1100 field spectroradiometer from Spectral Evolution is offered as a field unit or standalone configuration.

The device uses a single, 512-element photo diode array and has a 4-degree, weatherproof field-of-view lens for upwelling radiance data and an integrated diffuser receptor for downwelling irradiance. The UDS-1100 is NIST-calibrated and available in a NEMA enclosure for field installation.

Applications include the study of soil, crops, vegetation, forest canopies, water bodies, snow, and ice and meteorology, among others.
