ZURICH, July 8, 2013 — For time-resolved measurements using pulsed laser sources, Zurich Instruments has released the UFH-BOX Boxcar Averager as an option for the 600-MHz UHFLI lock-in amplifier. The new device enables baseline-free measurements, multichannel operation and fully differential laser path measurements.
The fully digital boxcar averager allows users to measure at repetition rates up to 450 MHz, which the company says is more than 1000 times greater than previously possible. In tandem, the devices provide 600-MHz input bandwidth, <2-ns dead time and improved signal-to-noise ratio compared with the lock-in device alone.
With the UHF-BOX, two boxcar units as well as two peak form analyzers are provided, enabling instantaneous signal pulse shape visualization. The UHFLI is equipped with an integrated tool set for time and frequency domain signal analysis, including an oscilloscope, a frequency response analyzer and a fast Fourier transform spectrum analyzer.
