DURHAM, N.C., June 24, 2013 — The UR Series LED 102-lm/W upgrade kit from Cree Inc. saves more than 50 percent in energy and lasts twice as long as standard 32-W fluorescent lamps, the company says.

The easy-to-install kit’s light bars and drivers fit into existing T8/T12 linear fluorescent fixtures and cover 2- and 4-ft lengths in various lamp configurations. Magnetic mounting clips, quick-connect technology and a form-fitted driver enable faster installation than retrofit LED tubes and conversion kits, the company says.

The upgrade delivers 4500 lm for a 2 × 4 fixture and 3600 lm for a 2 × 2 fixture. It is designed to last 50,000 h, making it suitable for applications where existing lighting fixtures are retained.
