USB3 Camera ModuleVideology Imaging Solutions Inc. has announced the 5-MP 24B5.0XUSB3 monochrome USB3 camera module, the first in a series of cameras that will operate with the company’s own image processing firmware.

The 24B5.0XUSB3 uses a 1/2.5-in image sensor, offering low-light, near-IR performance and frame rates up to 14 fps at full resolution. Higher frame rates at reduced resolutions are possible through binning. The device provides a parallel BT.1120 that can be run simultaneously with the USB.

A viewer provides user access to many of the camera controls, with alternative control to all functions through I2C. Snapshot hardware and software pins are provided for full-resolution, still-image capture.
