HERCULES, Calif., March 7, 2014 — Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc. has released the beta version of the USP Spectral Library for spectral analysis, identification, search, data management, and reporting for food and drug quality.

Powered by proprietary KnowItAll software, the spectral library allows manufacturers to perform raw materials identification during routine quality control measures to confirm the identity of active pharmaceutical ingredients and excipients used in their products.

Applications include quality standards development, and field screening for counterfeit and substandard foods and medicines. The spectral library is a suitable tool for regulatory authorities, law enforcement, hospitals, pharmacies, manufacturers and distributors.
