UV-Heat Curing System
Master Bond Inc.Request Info
Formulated for demanding medical applications, UV15DC80Med adhesive from Master Bond Inc. is a dual UV-heat curing system that allows rapid fixturing.
The adhesive has a moderate viscosity of 45,000 to 65,000 cps and is 100 percent reactive. The UV portion of the curing mechanism is cationic in nature. With a tensile strength exceeding 5000 psi at 75 °F, the system bonds to metals, glass, ceramics and many plastics. The high-temperature-resistant system is serviceable from –60 to 400 °F. The heat curing portion can be initiated at a low temperature of 80 °C.
Dual curing can also be used to fixture two optically opaque substrates, such as metals, using UV light exposure from a side angle, then completing the cure with heat.
The adhesive passes stringent USP Class VI tests for biocompatibility, as well as ISO 10993-5 cytotoxicity standards.
