Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has introduced the Evolution 200 series next-generation ultraviolet/visible spectrophotometers. Featuring new Insight software with Customized User Environment scripting capabilities, the series includes three instruments designed for applications ranging from standard quantitative analysis to research life sciences assays. They perform routine quality assurance/quality control analyses in the life sciences, food and beverage, and materials science industries, and they offer fast data collection rates for kinetics measurements at up to 100 data points per second. The Evolution 220 and Evolution 260 Bio feature application-focused beam geometry technology that tailors their optical systems to specific applications for microcells, solid sampling and fiber optics. The latter includes enhanced Insight life sciences software that offers preprogrammed assay methods for increased accuracy and convenience.
