TORRINGTON, Conn., March 2, 2010 – Dymax Corp.’s BlueWave LED Prime UVA high-intensity spot-curing system has no consumable bulbs to change and no warm-up, and it provides cool cures and constant intensity for thousands of hours.

It generates curing energy using high-intensity LEDs and delivers it through a 5-mm-diameter lightguide, with output of up to 15 W/cm2. The unit is CE-certified, RoHS-compliant, easy to operate and offers a useful LED lifetime of >50,000 h. The intensity adjustment feature allows users to adjust and control intensity output from 0 to 100% to assist with process validation and control.

Intensity level measurement is accomplished via the company’s Accu-Cal 50-LED radiometer that takes readings through the lightguide in process development and production settings. The company offers single- and multi-legged lightguides.

The system is suitable for spot curing of various coatings as well as adhesive bonding of polycarbonate, polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene terephthlate, metal and glass.
