Spectronics.jpgSpectronics Corp. has released the Select XLE-Series UV cross-linker that covalently binds nucleic acids to membranes in <30 s. It allows users to identify and analyze trace amounts of DNA and RNA with greater sensitivity and speed than with conventional analysis, according to the company, and it has circuitry that safeguards test results from washouts. It offers a fully programmable “smart” microprocessor, built-in “help” messages and an autorepeat function. It features five 8-W tubes and is available in 254-, 312- and 365-nm versions. It is suitable for gene mapping, UV sterilization, eliminating polymerase chain reaction contamination and miscellaneous UV-dosage applications.
