ANDOVER, Mass., Dec. 7, 2021 — UV Fiber LaserThe Spectra-Physics® Quasar® UV80 laser from MKS Instruments Inc. is a high-power, high-pulse UV wavelength fiber laser.

The device offers >80-W UV, >400-µJ pulse energies, and high single-mode beam quality. TimeShift programmable pulse capability results in tunable pulse widths from <2 to >100 ns, adjustable repetition rates from single shot to 3.5 MHz, as well as burst mode and programmable pulse shapes. The Quasar UV80 laser can be used for applications in the high-throughput manufacturing of electronic packages and components, ceramics, printed circuit boards, semiconductors, solar panels, lithium-ion batteries, and lightweight carbon fiber reinforced polymer parts.
