Synbiosis, a division of Synoptics Group, has released the ProcUV, a UV imaging accessory for its ProtoCOL 2 system. The device enables instant imaging of bacteria-expressing GFPs, fluorescent colonies and plaques for automatic counting and analysis. It has automatic exposure time settings and consists of a cabinet containing a high-resolution camera, internal UV and white lighting with specialized interchangeable filters. The cabinet has a sliding, autolocking door to prevent accidental UV exposure.
