PhotoMachining Inc. offers UV laser micromachining using excimer and frequency-tripled and -quadrupled lasers. The company says that UV photons have advantages over the more conventional IR sources, such as their ability to process parts using “cold” ablation, to achieve the smallest feature sizes and to precisely control material removal. New UV laser sources are replacing some technologies, especially in applications where part cleanliness and small feature size are required. The company builds UV laser tools to customer specification. It provides job shop services, from research and development to volume production, in a Class 10,000 contract manufacturing facility.
