The UVCorder digital camcorder is designed for viewing scenes in the near-UV waveband in real time on a 3.5-in. LCD. Oculus Photonics LLP’s device is equipped with the Sony Intelligent Accessory Shoe, upon which a UV camera module is mounted. The module contains a silicon CCD camera with enhanced UV response in the 300- to 400-nm region with a peak at 370 nm. The camcorder can record UV stills with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels onto a memory stick, as well as video to a 60-min mini-DV cassette tape. Applications include dermatology, dentistry and biological research.
