NEWTON, N.J., April 24, 2020 — The ULN15PT line of ultra-low-noise semiconductor lasers from Thorlabs features high output power of >100 mW, a narrow linewidth of <100 Hz, and an ultra-low relative intensity noise of <-165 dB/Hz.

Produced in partnership with Morton Photonics Inc., the lasers are based on a patented Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) external cavity design, providing output centered at 1550 nm. Each laser is packaged in an extended 14-pin butterfly housing featuring two thermoelectric cooler elements for precise laser and FBG control and stabilization. Offered in both polarization maintaining and single-mode fiber variants, the lasers can be optimized for wavelength tuning by temperature or current, depending on the application.
