Cobolt Tor™ XS Cobolt AB, Swedish manufacturer of high performance DPSS lasers, is proud to introduce the Cobolt Tor™ XS, a high performance Q-switched laser at 1064nm. The Cobolt Tor™ XS is designed for OEM integration into hand-held or portable instruments targeting LIBS applications. Operating at 1064 nm and using the same sophisticated laser cavity design as its big brother, Cobolt Tor™, it provides a unique combination for its size of high pulse repetition rates (>1 kHz), high average power (up to 50 mW), short pulse lengths (<3 ns) and exceptional pulse-to-pulse stability. In addition, the emission is generated in a TEM00 beam and can be externally triggered from single pulse up to 1 kHz. The compact footprint measures only 50 x 29 x 21.4 mm and weighs <100 g.

The lasers are manufactured using Cobolt’s proprietary HTCure™ Technology in a compact and hermetically sealed package, which provides a very high level of immunity to varying environmental conditions and exceptional reliability. Lasers built using the HTCure™ Technology have shown to withstand multiple 60G mechanical shocks in operation without any sign of degraded performance. They can be exposed to extreme temperatures (>100ºC), and are insensitive to pressure and humidity.
