ANDOVER, Mass., April 15, 2021 — Ultracompact UV Nanosecond LasersThe Spectra-Physics® Explorer® One HP HE 355-200 from MKS Instruments is a high-energy ultraviolet laser, featuring 3.5x the pulse energy of the current Explorer One HP line of ultracompact actively Q-switched lasers. The laser achieves pulse energies greater than 200 μJ, an average power of more than 4 W, pulse widths of less than 15 ns, and dynamic closed-loop pulse-energy controls. The E-Track active pulse-energy control features a closed-loop algorithm which enables dynamic pulse energy adjustment with various gating operations for optimal process control. Potential applications include the structuring and ablation of thin films, trimming of microresistors and capacitors, and high-contrast marking of medical devices, plastics and glass.
