Ultrafast Thin-Film Near-IR Polarizers

BARRINGTON, N.J., Sept. 26, 2013 — Edmund Optics has introduced ultrafast thin-film transmission and reflection polarizers for high-power lasers operating in the near-IR range.

The transmission models have polarizing coatings on both sides, while the reflection models feature a polarizing coating on the input face and an antireflection coating on the output face. Both types measure 25.4 mm in diameter and have a wavelength range of 750 to 850 or 980 to 1090 nm.

With high damage thresholds, they are suitable for high-power lasers, including Ti:sapphire. Their extinction ratio provides suitable efficiency for a wide variety of applications.
