MoleculUS™ is a multimode imaging device from collaborators PhotoSound Technologies, Inc. and Telemed, UAB. It features B (2D), M, color doppler, and pulsed wave doppler modes as standard clinical features. The device enables photoacoustic acquisition and 2D imaging at 128 channels, alternating between the ultrasound beamformer and amplified broadband parallel receiver. A laser source delivers optical or electrical signal triggers, enabling ultrasound imaging between pulses.
A software development kit is included in the system, enabling device customization. Linear and microconvex probes make multiple imaging application possible, including real-time optical tissue contrast visualization. The system includes USB PC connection for easy instrument integration.
This device operates in standard clinical, preprogrammed ultrasound modes; a toggle on/off photoacoustic (PA) mode is easily activated.
