Sierra-Olympic Uncooled Thermal CameraThe Vayu HD uncooled thermal camera from Sierra-Olympic Technologies Inc. provides true high definition and 1080p output.

The new thermal imager replaces the Viento HD and Viento HD IP67 cameras and features the same LWIR spectral response from 8 to 14 µm, making it ideal for security, border protection, military imaging, airborne reconnaissance and wide-area surveillance. The rugged Vayu HD utilizes a vanadium oxide microbolometer sensor with a capacity of more than 2.3 million pixels on a 12- µm pixel pitch in a commercially designed, IP67-environmentally rated, standalone camera. Other features include an athermalized 24-mm F1.1 custom-designed optic, 30-Hz frame rate and three video formats. Custom lenses are available upon request.

The Vayu HD, with its processor core, provides integrated image enhancement functions, on-board image and video storage, true Ethernet or RS-422 camera control capabilities, and electronic image stabilization. The uncooled microbolometer detector offers long life for the camera system by eliminating the need for a cryocooler that would require periodic servicing or replacement.
