SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 4, 2016 — Underground Cable TerminalOFS Fitel LLC has announced the SlimBox Underground Terminal used to connect distribution cables in the outside plant network to drop cables in FTTx networks.

The SlimBox Underground Terminal enables quick and easy connections through drop cables with fusion splicing, splice on connectors or mechanical connectors. It has one area for storage and splicing, as well as a separate area for the management and activation of subscribers. The mechanical sealing system supports round drop cables, making the terminal well-suited for both underground and aerial applications.

The terminal can be configured with fusion splices, and spliced and connectorized drops. It can also house two factory connectorized 1x8 splitters, a single factory connectorized 1x16 splitter and unconnectorized splitters.
